Making an air-conditioning plant for a prestigious hotel with a very small machine room.
The context
The Plaza Resort City in Hong Kong is an exceptional building that embodies elegance and luxury in the heart of the bustling Asian metropolis. Strategically placed in the city centre, this resort stands out as an oasis of tranquillity amidst the urban hustle and bustle and offers breathtaking views of the Hong Kong skyline and harbour. Storage informations
The air conditioning plant at the Plaza Resort City required a specific solution to solve a complex problem with plant sizing. The difficulty was due to the need to develop a large cooling capacity with two very stringent constraints: a machine room with limited space and the need to dissipate heat with a radial ducting to the outside of the building.
Our solution was to choose radial fans for air ducting. This solution solved the problem for the customer who configured the plant using our Zonda condensers.
Installed products
10 V-type condensers. ZONDA-L 62 with 2 radial fans.
Large heat exchange capacity with low refrigerant charge.
The condensation plant of the Plaza Resort City is configured as follows:
10 ZONDA-L 63 modified with two radial EC fans.
The total installed power is 1,600 kW, with refrigerant gas R134a.
The total footprint is only 18 m².
Advantage obtained
Thanks to our solution, the customer was able to size the plant correctly in the machine room. Our condensers take up very little space and maintain very good efficiency even when the air flow is changed from axial to radial.
We recently helped one of our customers with a sizing problem in the air conditioning plant of the Plaza Resort City in Hong Kong. The customer’s requirements were to develop a significant condensing power, taking into account the limited space in the machine room, and the dissipation of heat with radial ducting to the outside of the building.
Our solution solved the need for radial ducting with a footprint of only 18 m² for our Zonda condensers, while ensuring efficient plant operation. We are pleased to have exceeded the customer’s expectations by demonstrating our ability to provide tailor-made, high-performance solutions for the most complex air-conditioning challenges in large buildings.
