Stefani has recently supplied a significant number of dry-coolers for cooling data centres specifically for the world of communications and video.
The dry-coolers were employed for cooling the Elite Thomson transmitters and Futhura Thomson transmitters used for transmitting radio and digital TV signals; they were installed by the RTRN (Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network).
The dry-coolers designed and manufactured by Stefani for data centres were used on a large scale for the first time during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics in Russia, an event followed by hundreds of millions of people all around the world and in which the reliability in the transmission of radio and video signals played a key role.
The project, which was a partnership with Eurodifroid, has involved the supply of 303 machines and, in particular, 288 SDNS 050/2 A 4D dry-coolers and 15 SDNS 063/2 A 6DH dry-coolers.
All the dry-coolers are fitted with pre-painted fins in order to protect the aluminium surface against potential corrosion, EC fans to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum energy consumption under any use condition, and disconnecting switch for each fan to facilitate service tasks without the need of stopping the machine. An auxiliary contact has also been added to the dry-coolers upon the customer’s specific request.
